Dalton Dynamoes J.A.F.C Club Announcement
It takes a massive community effort to keep grassroots football alive. Today, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that Dalton Dynamoes JAFC has been awarded a vital £3,000 grant from the One Community Foundation!
As we approach our 30th anniversary, the club faced a major hurdle. With the recent withdrawal of council maintenance services, the responsibility of managing and maintaining our six-pitch site fell entirely on our shoulders. Without intervention, the soaring commercial costs of pitch upkeep would have threatened our ability to keep football affordable for local families during a cost-of-living crisis.
That is where the One Community Foundation stepped in.
Through their incredibly generous support, this £3,000 restricted grant has been exclusively ring-fenced for our “Pitch Survival” project. It provides our dedicated volunteer grounds team with the professional tools and materials they need to manage the site independently.
What is the grant funding?
Every penny of this award is being put directly into the ground (literally!). The funding covers:

A professional electric spray line-marking machine and a 52-week supply of eco-friendly pitch paint.

Essential winter grass seed and specialised sports turf fertiliser to repair heavily used goalmouths.

Professional deep-tine aeration services to keep the pitches playable through the harsh winter months.

Crucial safety gear (PPE) and warranty coverage for our volunteer groundskeepers.
What does this mean for the club?
Ultimately, this isn’t just about grass and paint. It’s about the 250+ children and young people across the Dalton and Rawthorpe estates who rely on these pitches every single week. By covering these high operational costs, the One Community Foundation has ensured that our kids continue to have a safe, high-quality, and uninterrupted environment to play the game they love – without the club having to pass those heavy maintenance costs onto our parents.
